Low Water Definitions for Land Surveyors
low water line—The line defined by the boundary of a body of water at its ordinary low water stage or normal lower water.
low water mark– See low water line.
lower high water (LHW)- The lower of two high waters of any tidal day where the tide exhibits mixed characteristics.
lower low water line– A line or mark indicating lower low water.
lowest low water– A plane of reference whose distance below mean sea level corresponds with the meal level of lowest low water of any normal tide; lowest normal low water.
