Multipath Definition for Land Surveyors

multipath—The errors resulting from a signal being received by two or more paths, leading to interference at the antenna. These errors can corrupt the pseudorange and carrier-phase measurements and, thus, any positioning making use of these measurements. Multipath is generally caused by a part of the original signal being reflected off objects such as buildings. Antennas can be designed to minimize this error.
