Delineation Definition for Land Surveyors

delineation— In cartography, the visual selection and distinguishing of map worthy features on various possible source materials by outlining the features on the source material, or on a map manuscript (as when operating a stereoscopic plotting instrument); also a preliminary step in compilation.
